Warriors upset Rebels 27-18

Tacoma Washington-Not the contest we were all hoping for to start, but boy did it ever turn out being a grip your seat kind of game by the 4th quarter. But in the end we are now at a deadlock for the Western Impact North Division.

With the Washington Warriors defeating the West Sound Rebels both teams now sit 4-1 in the DivisionAs far as games that count though the Rebels maintain the top position due to points for and against.

The game started with a flurry of big plays by the Warriors who couldn’t seem to do anything wrong. The offense kept marching down the field and they kept on taking advantage of Rebels miscues. They would go into halftime with a 27-0 lead.

We all knew Coach Smith and the Rebels would make adjustments and fight back. If they wanted a shot at a come back they would have to shut down the Warriors offense. And that’s exactly what this stingy Rebels defense did.

It started off with a blocked field goal by the Rebels and a scoop and score to give them their first points of the game. JT Taase would add two more passing touchdowns. One to Cory Klingberg, and one to Thomas Alston.

With just 4:30 remaining in the game the Rebels lined up at the Warriors 2 yard line looking to make it a one score game but a fumble by the running back turned the ball back over to the Warriors who were then able to milk the final seconds off the clock.

The final score was Warriors 27 and the Rebels 18. But it was truly the tale of two halves. We’ll continue to keep a close eye on these two Top 5 teams to see where they’re going to go. As for now the Warriors will travel to the Everett Royals, and the Rebels will rest up with a bye week.
