VIKINGS DAWGZ RECAP:NATIONAL GAME OF THE WEEK
New Albany,Mississippi-The Tennessee Vikings put on a dominant performance, outpacing the Mississippi Dawgz decisively in this week’s GDFL National “Game of the Week“ showdown.
The Vikings struck first with a spectacular 80-yard fumble return by Kwun Moore, quickly setting the tone at 6-0 with just 3:14 left in the first quarter. Not slowing down, Wilbur Jackson added a 12-yard touchdown run at the 2:15 mark, extending the lead to 12-0.
The second quarter opened explosively for the Vikings as quarterback Omarion Johnson connected with Martavis Moore for a 37-yard touchdown pass, widening their lead to 18-0 at the 12:30 mark. The Dawgz finally responded halfway through the second quarter, putting their first points on the board to trail 18-6.
However, Johnson answered back swiftly with a dynamic 40-yard touchdown run, boosting the Vikings to a 24-6 lead at halftime.
The Vikings continued their assault right after the break, with Wilbur Jackson electrifying the crowd again—this time with a 75-yard kickoff return touchdown, moving the score to 32-6 just seconds into the third quarter. The Dawgz managed another touchdown later in the quarter, tightening the score slightly to 32-12.
But the Vikings remained unstoppable, as Omarion Johnson found Chris Nelson for a 42-yard touchdown catch, with Anthony Buford successfully adding a two-point conversion, stretching the lead to 40-12.
Defensively, Tajerron “Big Twin” Frison had a standout performance, terrorizing the Dawgz offense with 6 sacks, 4 tackles for loss, and forcing 3 fumbles, all while showcasing versatility by stepping into the MLB position.
Ultimately, the Tennessee Vikings cruised to a decisive victory, anchored by explosive offensive plays and relentless defensive pressure.
