Thunder Headed to Impact Conference Championship!

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - The Oklahoma Thunder are looking to do something that's never been done in before in minor league football, win four straight national championships. They're well on their way to doing that after a convincing win in round one of the playoffs. Oklahoma took down the Joplin Crusaders with a 28-6 final score. With that, one step closer to returning to the national championship.

“The reputation of the thunder, you think about them you think about winning,” Thunder safety DJ Wolfe said.

They've already created a Dynasty in the Gridiron Developmental Football League. Last year they were the first in the league to win three straight championships. This year they look to do even more with a fourth.

“You see teams like the New England Patriots,” Thunder head coach Rashid Lowe said. “We don't want to be the Buffalo Bills. We don't want to just keep going back and keep losing.”

Despite an 8-1 record, this year hasn't been easy. The Thunder have been plagued with injuries to key players. But, this team hasn't let up despite the setbacks.Fox 23 (Read More)
