THUNDER DISMANTLE STEELDOGS

Tulsa, OK-  Brandon Noohi, Prentiss Elliott, Brandon Sheperd, Cameron Cotton and Trae Johnson combined for five passing touchdowns Saturday to lead No.1 Oklahoma Thunder to a 56-0 win over the Starkville Steeldogs.

The Thunder dashed and slashed the Steeldogs with momentum building touchdowns from distance. Zay Griff exploded on a 91 yard toss sweep, LB Shawn Jackson scooped and scored on a fumble return and the GDFL highlight king Prentiss Elliot dazzled on a 98 yard punt return TD. 

Oklahoma Thunder (9-0) scored in all 4 quarters of the game and controlled all phases of the game from beginning to end David Goodson (Goody) went 8 for 8 on pats, there was no need for field goals.

Brandon Noohi passed for 305 yards and 5 touchdowns and no turnovers.

Starkville Steeldogs passed for 19 passes for 85 yards avg of 8.5 yrd pp, but was intercepted 2 times and sacked 14 times, including four by Calvin Barnett, Former Cleveland Brown and Oklahoma State University Defensive Tackle.

The Thunder totaled 506 yards while holding Starkville Steeldogs (7-3) a #6 GDFL playoff seed who knock off the #2 seed in the North Impact division, to Defense- 29 plays 3 yards 19 rushes for -82 yards avg of -4.32 yrd pp 19 passes for 85 yards avg of 8.5 yrd pp 14 sacks, 1 blk FG, 2 int, 1 FF, 1 FR for a TD, 1 blk .

Starkville Steeldogs had a  19 rushes for -82 yards avg of -4.32 yrd pp against the Thunder, who return most of the defensive unit that finished last season ranked #1 nationally in total defense.

Starkville Steeldogs failed to capitalize on its first scoring threat when a 25-yard field goal attempt was blocked.

This will be the Oklahoma Thunders fourth time advancing to the Conference Championship since there inception into the Gridiron Developmental Football League, they can make history by becoming the only team to ever win back to back National titles in the GDFL! The Thunder will play the # 2 team in the Impact Conference the Crescent City Kings of New Orleans on Saturday.
