South Lane Buzzards Rout Grit City Knights

Eugene,Oregon-In their second home appearance of the season, the South Lane Buzzards (3-2) came out victorious in a 41-8 rout of the Grit City Knights (3-2). Last Saturday was the most complete game that the Dirty Birds have played all season, with 300+ yards of offense and a combined 5 forced turnovers between the defense and special teams units. After some early-game struggles, the Buzzards turned it on in the second half and did not look back. 

Buzzards QB Ryan Jones passed for an impressive 248 yards and 6 touchdowns on the afternoon. Of those scores, Wide Receiver Colby Jackson hauled in 3 of them after missing the previous contest against the Rebels for a tryout with the XFL in Atlanta, GA. Also, returning from a Week 1 shoulder injury, Defensive Back Braeden Holstedge  reasserted himself in the lineup with 3 tackles, 2 INTs and a pass breakup. Other standout performances on the day: Andre Dickson 2 receiving TDs, Bamm Daniels 1 receiving TD, Tre Larson 7 total tackles including a forced fumble, Marco Zamora 6 total tackles, and Josh Cline 6 total tackles with 2 sacks.
