The Gridiron Developmental Football league is pleased to announce another championship contender for our GDFL West Coast brand. We the GDFL welcome in the 2017 PAC West Champions the San Diego Silverbacks .  

 The San Diego Silverbacks known as the, "Gorilla Gang" are not taking no for an answer in the upcoming GDFL West Coast spring season after finishing at 6-6 that ended in the second round of the LDFL semi finals the Silverbacks are more determined then ever!

Head Coach Elliot Limbrick, otherwise known as Coach Lim, has been involved in and has played an integral part of minor-professional football since 1997.  He began his career with the San Diego Crusaders as a defensive back.  During the 1998-2000 seasons he played for the San Diego Patriots.  He played the next two seasons with the San Diego Saints and finished the 2003-2004 season as a Southeast Raider.  In 2003, the Southeast Raiders achieved the accomplishment of Division Champions.

Coach Lim played for the San Diego Thunder during the 2005 and 2007 season.  The San Diego Thunder was ranked #1 in defense during the 2005 season and they were Southwest Football League (SWFL) Champions in both 2005 and 2007.  Between seasons with the San Diego Thunder, Coach Lim played for the San Dimas Smash in 2006.

Coach Lim has had the opportunity to play under numerous remarkable coaches during his minor league professional football career with the Southeast Raiders.  Noteworthy coaches include Steve Hayne (Los Angeles Rams & Los Angeles Generals – US Football League), Carl Wilson (Buffalo Bills), Leon Smith (Cincinnati Bengals), and Lonnie Mitchell (Baltimore Ravens & SDSU).

In 2009, Coach Lim became a football coach with Sweetwater High School in National City, which is his alma mater. 

In 2008, Coach Lim transitioned from minor-professional football player to coach with the San Diego Thunder as the Defensive Coordinator.  During that season, with a record of 16-4, Coach Lim was named Defensive Coordinator for South/East All-Star Team for the LCFL West All-Star Game.  Additionally, that same season, the San Diego Thunder achieved the following:

·         LaBelle Community Football League (LCFL) West Champions

·        NAFL Western/South Region Champions

·         NAFL National Championship Runner-Up

·         LCFL Top Ranked Defense

.         North American Football League (NAFL) Western Region Champions

"While others are enjoying the good weather, holidays, and weekend activities, the San Diego Silverbacks are quietly at work behind the scenes building something huge for the 2020 GDFL West Coast season. Watch these caged beast come out swinging in 2020", said Head Coach Elliot Limbrick.
