Sabers grind out victory over Knights

by Gridiron Media

Tacoma,WA-The Sabers experienced another downpour in the Rainy Pacific Northwest.. By Game-time a constant rain was coming down by 2nd Quarter it began to downpour and never let up for the rest of the game ..

The Sabers offensive line started the game strong by leadership of Captains (#77) Tyreese “Big Reese” Thrower and (#41) Antonio Summerlin. The line had a great day of controlling the line of scrimmage and protecting the Quarterback.

A Standout Game by RB (#8) Stephen “JUICE” Branham.. Averaging over 5 yards a carry, he helped the Sabers offense move the ball early. With the help of the run game the Sabers got in the red zone and QB (#10) Gavin Vradenburg found WR (#3) Brian Garner in the Endzone for an early first quarter score. That would be the only points scored in this game.

The Sabers Defense had a dominant game and created consistent pressure on the Knights Quarterbacks. Through out the game, DT (#94) Norman MoiMoi and DT (#98) Nathaniel “Big Baby” Beckwith  shutdown the interior of the Knights Run game while edge defenders (#43) Chris Tavita and Captain LB (#33) Alva Liles controlled the edge and made the Knights go back to the drawing board through out the game. The Sabers defense as a unit carried the Sabers to a shutout. An all around great performance by the Defense led by DC Mitch Hamilton.

The Sabers now move in to a BYE week this upcoming week and plan to use it to clean up the mistakes and get ready for their next Matchup vs. the West Sound Rebels on June 18th at Mount Tahoma High-school in Tacoma, WA.
