Royals return home to host the West Sound Rebels

by Gridiron Media

Everett,Wa-The Everett Royals will be hosting the West Sound Rebels this Saturday at Mariner High School in Everett.  The Royals have played a couple of close games but are looking for their first regular season win.

The Rebels were victorious in a pre-season game against the Royals earlier this year.

All eyes will be on utility man Dakota Jeffrey who caused havoc on Special Teams for the Royals and helped spark a phenomenal fourth quarter for the Royals last week against the Washington Warriors.  Jeffrey was a key player in the Royals recovery of an onside kick and forcing a fumble on a Warriors punt return.

Receivers Cole Ebert and Isaac Maness should be in position to continue the success that they’ve had this season.

Coming off a bye week the West Sound Rebels will look to get back to where they left off. Game 1 for the Rebels showed the tenacity and the will to overcome adversity that it’s going to take to win in this very difficult Western Impact North Division.

Even though Rebels won the pre-season game earlier in the year the Royals have made several changes since then which will make this a very entertaining contest.

The Rebels will lean on their very talented 1-2 punch at running back in Randy Grier, and Tyquan Bowie. They will also be led by standout quarterback Jacob JT Taase who threw for 5 touchdowns in week 1. Other weapons to watch are Cory Klingberg, Demetrius Rackley, and Kofi Goseer Jr.

The Rebels defense will be returning with week 1 Player of the Week Kodi Martinez. Kodi paced the defense with a record setting 4 interception game. Linebackers Mark Tagaleoo & David Sousou will combine in the middle to punish anyone in their path. While the Defensive line which includes Ryan Blowers, Darius Riddley, and Isley Stoneham, will continue to put nonstop pressure on the quarterback.

Everything about this game is looking very exciting. So if you’re looking for something to do Saturday afternoon, come on out to Mariner High School at 4 pm and watch what promises to be a heavyweight bout!

This will be the third week of the regular season of the GDFL.  For more information on tickets visit www.everettroyals.com
