Rockets take down Eagles to remain Undefeated

by Gridiron Media

Huntsville,AL-The #3 Chattanooga Eagles traveled to the #5 Huntsville Rockets this past Saturday, and the matchup on the gridiron did not disappoint.

The first quarter of the game was a defensive battle with neither team putting points on the board.  The momentum shifted late in the first quarter in favor of the home team when #12 Darrel Paige made a play with an impressive one handed catch for a Rockets first down.

That spark continued into the second quarter when Rockets sophomore QB #8 Justin Niemeyer found #85 Eric Foster over the top of a defender for a 14-yard Touch Down pass to give the Rockets a 7-0 lead over the Eagles.

Though both teams were playing tough defense #77 Keith Davis of the Huntsville Rockets made it difficult for the Eagles to move down the field with 7.5 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 tackles for a loss, 2 QB hurries, and 1 forced fumble.

The Rockets defense smothered the Eagles offense keeping them out of the end zone through 3 quarters of action.

In the fourth quarter of the game the Chattanooga Eagles seemed to find their offensive flow scoring a Touch Down with a failed attempt at going for two. #1 TJ Whitman intercepted the pass and ran it back for a 100-yard 2-point conversion making the score 9-6, Rockets.

The Huntsville Rockets scored again with #4 Montarius Smith as the receiver, giving the Rockets some breathing room with a score of 15-6 late in the fourth quarter. The Eagles were not going away easily, they scored a second time with a successful 2-point conversion making the score 15-14.

The fourth quarter of the game became a nail biter for fans, players, and coaches. The Huntsville Rockets solidified the win with #4 Montarius Smith running the ball in for another Touch Down, giving the Rockets 21 points and their 4th straight win of the season while giving the Eagles their 1st loss of the season.
