Decatur,AL-The Huntsville Rockets took on the River City Pythons in game two of the 2018 regular season and it turned out to be a tough task for the number one team in the GDFL. Huntsville and Decatur are only miles away from each other and both teams have players that have played against each other since they were kids.

With the rain pouring down, the Rockets and Pythons exchanged blows with neither team being able to deliver a scoring punch. The Rocket offense led by quarterback A.J. Clark, drove the ball up and down the field, but could not reach the end zone as the Python defense caused the Rocket Offense to turn the ball over multiple times.

The Rocket defense stood strong in the contest holding elusive quarterback Ryan Watson at bay. Special teams would come into play for the Rockets as running back and returner Jermarious Chandler scampered 72 yards for the first score of the game in the early moments of the third quarter on a punt return. Both defenses would stand strong for the remainder of the game with emotions rising.

On the final play of the game, standout cornerback T.J. Whitman intercepted a final attempt for a Python score and returned it 87 yards to put the icing on the cake for a 12-0 Rocket Win. The Huntsville Rockets move to 2-0 and stay undefeated. They take on the 0-1 East Alabama Predators May 19th at home
