Rebels Win Western Impact North Division

by Gridiron Media

Tacoma Washington-It was the exact ending the West Sound Rebels were looking for. As they defeated the Grit City Knights 53-0 to end both team’s regular season. The Rebels ended the season with a 7-1 record and winners of the Western Impact North Division.

The Rebels offense kept on pace by throwing and rushing the ball very evenly. JT Taase would throw for 4 more Touchdown passes finishing with 31 for the season in only 7 games. Wide receiver Thomas Alston would finish the season with 11 touchdowns, and Cory Klingberg would finish with 10 touchdowns.

We’ve got to talk about this amazing backfield as well. Or TRD as they’ve come to be known by Rebels staff and fans. Tyquan Bowie, Randy Grier, Marshaud Dewalt and Simeon Wells. These 4 have been fun to watch all season and we all know if you can’t run the ball your offense will struggle. These gentlemen deserve a standing ovation for their hard work and dedication all season.

Once again, the Defense was nearly impossible to move the ball on. With constant pressure on the quarterback everything broke down and made it very difficult to find any openings for the Knights first year quarterback. The secondary secured several interceptions, and the defense overall only gave up 3 first downs. It’s never easy to get a shutout at any level, so the Rebels defense should be very proud of this performance.

Overall, this inaugural season for the Rebels was very impressive. They won their division. They were the #1 scoring team in the entire country. They’re sending 16 players to the All-Pro game and had the #1 quarterback in the league named Offensive Player of the Year. Not bad for a first-year team.

So, keep your eyes peeled for this Rebels team playoff run because it starts this Saturday, 8/13, Bonney Lake High School, at 7pm against those Grit City Knights. Get there and you’ll be in for a solid 4 quarters of entertainment.
