HOUSTON,TX– The Houston Raiders (1-4) topped the Joplin Crusaders (1-2), 8-6, in a shocker Saturday afternoon at Houston Baptist University in Houston. The Raiders scored in the fourth quarter, after Marcus Ross blocked a punt into the endzone and was able to fall on it to scored a  touchdown with 5:20 remaining to seal the victory. With the win, Raiders get their first ever victory in GDFL history.

Marcus Ross stated,“The defense played great today. Getting to the quarterback and creating turnovers were crucial. We are starting to find our identity defensively, so we just have to stick to that, and good things will happen.”

On Riders Linebacker Marcus Ross game-winning touchdown:

“It was great. That was a game-winning turnover for a touchdown and it meant a lot…He was ready and prepared. (Marcus) Ross is always around the ball like that and always makes a play when we need it most. He did that tonight.”

“Sometimes things go your way and sometimes they don’t. When we really believe good things are going to happen, it happens and when we start doing things outside of our nature, it doesn’t go our way. This game, we stayed focused the whole game.”
