Memphis defense stands tall against Road Warriors

by Gridiron Media

Memphis,Tenn-Memphis defeats Mississippi 6-0 in what would be 4 quarters of an absolute defensive War! Mississippi had a hard time not only passing the ball but running the ball as well, being held to under 150 all purpose yards.

The Blast would force 2 turnovers 1 by Markerion Johnson who now lead the Blast with 3 interceptions on the season the other by LB Roby Mitchell an interception which resulted in the only score of the game.

Playing without starting QB Chakel Gates, in steps Darieus Robinson who would throw a dime to Marvelous Markerion Johnson for a 15 yard game winner late in 2nd quarter. The Defense was led by LB Antonio Mcnutt with a gang of tackles to continue to stuff the Roadrunners offense and giving them headaches for the rest of the night.
Coming off a tight loss against Huntsville, Memphis would bounce back and claim the  victory with a strong performance by the defense. #8 Memphis hopes to get the offense back on track to match the energy of the defense in what will be a heavyweight match-up in Saturdays game vs.The #7 Tri City Outlaws (3-0) whom lead the division.
