Iron City Bears accepted into the GDFL

Pittsburgh,PA-The Iron City Bears Inc are an organization based out of Western, PA to focus on giving young athletes a chance to continue to compete and develop within the game of football. Our roster will be built with young men that want to get a second chance, or a first chance that they didn’t feel that they got while in High School.

The Iron City Bears Inc. will be announcing our Home Stadium in a Press release on November 1, 2023. We will be competing in the GDFL because we believe as an organization that it will provide our athletes with the best structured league for development in the country. We look forward to competing with teams with great history such as the WPA Wildcatz and Erie Express to name a few.

“Building a legitimate developmental football team in the Pittsburgh Region is not easy, however with the help of a great ownership group and the structure of the GDFL we will succeed for sure,” said Iron City Bears General Manager Chris Leonard.

“The structure to build that was given to me as the Head Coach made it an easy decision to pick the GDFL as the league we wanted to proceed in. The blueprint has been being worked on for 3 years and came to pass in March. I look forward to the opportunity to lead this team and organization where they want to be.” Said Head Coach Brian Dippolito
