Pick-Six Seals It: Vikings Crowned IMPACT Champions
IMPACT Conference Championship Recap
What a battle right to the end.
The IMPACT Conference Championship delivered everything you’d expect from playoff football—defense, big plays, and momentum swings—before the Vikings punched their ticket to the National Championship with a 24–12 win over the Punishers.
First Half: Defense Rules
The opening quarter was a defensive standoff. Both teams traded stops and refused to give an inch, keeping the scoreboard locked at 0–0.
Midway through the second quarter, Vikings running back Wilbur Jackson finally broke it open. Taking a swing pass out of the backfield, Jackson shook off three defenders and sprinted 50 yards for the game’s first score. His effort run sent the Vikings into halftime with a 6–0 lead.
Third Quarter: Vikings Strike Again
The Punishers answered with pressure, but Vikings quarterback Omarion Johnson created separation late in the third. On a designed scramble, Johnson darted 27 yards to the end zone, dodging tacklers on the way.
The Punishers responded with a 27-yard touchdown connection from Darieus Robinson to Tracy Smith Jr., but the Vikings still held the advantage, 12–6, heading into the final quarter.
Fourth Quarter: Vikings Take Control
The game broke wide open in the fourth. Johnson fired a 22-yard strike to Jadarious Mister to extend the lead. Moments later, defensive back Ajaay Patterson delivered the dagger an electrifying 87-yard pick-six that sealed the win and brought the Vikings’ sideline to life.
The Punishers fought back, adding another touchdown, but it wasn’t enough. The Vikings closed strong in all phases, walking away with a 24–12 victory and the IMPACT Conference crown.
