GOTW:Huntsville Rockets Snap Losing Streak with Last-Second TD Thriller

Memphis,TN-The Huntsville Rockets ended their two-game skid in dramatic fashion, pulling off a game-winning touchdown with just 23 seconds left to beat the Tennessee Vikings.

The game opened with a special teams disaster for the Vikings—on 4th and 15, the center snapped the ball over the punter’s head. Two plays later, Rockets running back Jermichael Cribbs bulldozed his way in for a 3-yard score.

Late in the first half, with the Vikings driving into Rockets territory, linebacker AJ Crider stepped in front of a pass and returned it 55 yards for a pick-six. The Rockets took a 12-0 lead into the locker room.

The Vikings came out swinging in the third. Quarterback Omarion Anderson led a gritty drive that ended with a 10-yard scramble for a touchdown, cutting the lead to 12-6. The rest of the quarter was a back-and-forth slugfest, but neither team could break away.

The fourth quarter brought chaos. With the Vikings trailing and time ticking down, defensive back Namon Johnson made the play of the game—a 50-yard interception return for a touchdown, tying it up just before the two-minute warning. Both teams had trouble with extra points all day, leaving the score deadlocked.

With 23 seconds left, Rockets quarterback Christian Briscoe connected with wide receiver Rayshawn Huitt for a clutch touchdown that put the Rockets back on top.

The Vikings still had one last shot. Anderson hit a bomb for over 50 yards and stopped the clock with just two seconds left. But his final Hail Mary sailed over everyone’s head and out of bounds, sealing a wild win for the Rockets.
