George W. Burch III appointed Director of Football Operations

Memphis,Tenn-The Gridiron Developmental Football League is pleased to announce George W. Burch III of the Georgia Crush Football Organization has been appointed Director of Football Operations. George will be responsible to carry out the philosophy & administer the rules and regulations of the GDFL. George shall report directly to the Chief Operations Officer Tracey Hardney Scott All Appointees and the Commissioner shall report to Director Burch. 

The Director of Football Operations shall oversee all aspects of the football program and ensure compliance with policies and guidelines. The Director shall be instrumental in leveraging and creating opportunities for growth of the program and advancement of the league. The Director shall oversees/manage administrative, financial, communications, recruitment, combines, and compliance activities for the league.

 The Director of Football Operations is responsible for oversight of the scheduling, planning, and management of football team operations. George is a graduate of Fort Valley State University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Management in 2001. In 2006, George earned a Master's degree in Business Administration from Wesleyan College. George is employed by Government Employees Insurance Company (GEICO) where he currently holds the position of Liability Claims Supervisor. He has been employed there for the past 18 years. George and his business partner Chris Ward started the Georgia Crush Football Organization in 2008 as a Community Outreach program designed to develop the young men of Central Georgia. To date, the program has helped over 22 young men join colleges or sign arena deals.

 The Crush has been with the GDFL since its inception 9 years ago and have been major contenders for the Championship Crown. George will bring a wealth of knowledge & leadership to this new appointment. “I am truly looking forward to serving the GDFL and offering a fresh perspective on the Executive Team.” “I’m confident that by working together, we can ensure this great league reaches its full potential. George is the ideal candidate to assume the role of Director of Football Operations, his loyalty and commitment to the GDFL is unquestionable. He is definitely a welcomed addition to the executive team” stated league CEO Charles Thompson. George was born to George W. Burch Jr. and Velma H. Burch, He and Rhonda have three beautiful children: George IV, Zamaria and Zaye. 

In his spare time George enjoys spending time with family and friends, teaching financial literacy classes to children in foster care, coaching High School Football and playing golf. George will assume his new role September 1, 2017. Stay tune for further league announcements
