EAGLES FLY IN WEEK ONE
Chattanooga,TN-The Chattanooga Eagles used a ball control offense and stingy defense to upset the Georgia Crush. The Eagles literally ran through Georgia amassing over 180 yards on the ground. Four Eagles rushers averaged more than 4 yards per carry as they wore down the Crush defense and ground out an 8-6 victory. The Eagles offensive line controlled the game from start to finish moving defenders at will, paving the way for a early upset victory against a top-10 GDFL opponent.
Final Score: Eagles 8 vs. Crush 6
Player of the Game: Robby Turner. 17 carries for 94 yards, and 1 TD!
NIGHTMARE CRUISE BY SPARTANS
O'Fallon,IL-The Arkansas Nightmare used big plays and opportunistic defense to pull away from the Spartans. Running back Mike Hayes got the scoring started early with a 15-yard touchdown run. Hayes was joined in the touchdown club by Joe Dove when he busted through two tacklers and sprinted to the end zone on a dazzling 40-yard play. With the ground game pumping, the Nightmare added to the assault with a 60-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Richard Griffith to wide receiver Travus McMahon. The Nightmare closed out the scoring with a Blane Clark pick 6 and another Griffith-to-McMahon touchdown in the fourth.

ROAD WARRIORS TOP KINGS
New Orleans,LA - In a game featuring limited offense, the North Mississippi Road Warriors escaped New Orleans with a close, but impressive victory over the Crescent City Kings. The game was a back and forward affair featuring long passes and special teams scores. The Road Warriors limited the Kings offense and held strong twice inside the red zone, in the second half, to seal the victory. Kings defensive back Keywon Bullock returned a first quarter interception for a touchdown and running back Johnathan Stewart recovered a missed snap on a punt in the end zone capping the Kings scoring at 12. The Road Warriors completed two passes for 35+ yards, both resulted in touchdowns. Neither team was able to record an extra point leaving the score square at 12. The game-changing score was the result of a high snap which resulted in a Crescent City Kings safety and a 14-12 score in favor of the visiting Road Warriors.

Alabama Sabers wins defensive battle
Starting QB Tre Armstrong carried the Alabama Sabers through week 1 with a rookie OL and a multiplayer backfield; his precise decision making, kept them in the game while the big men up front got in a groove. Alabama Sabers and Madison Generals went into halftime 0-0 having an opening day defensive battle.
The Madison Generals played sound defense all night forcing the Sabers to be unsuccessful on multiple red zone trips.
The Sabers open up the second half looking 2016 reformed and playing smash mouth football. Scoring 2 rushing touchdowns and a 2 point conversion giving the Sabers a 14-0 lead for most of the second half.
The Generals were able to muster up some offense late and rally to score at the buzzer in the 4th, ending the game 14-6

Player of the game:
Defense was a key to the Sabers opening season victory. Defensive Back #4 Ro'd Massy was thrown at all night and played a solid game. He had 3 tackles, 3 pass breakups, and 2 interceptions.
MISSOURI CYCLONES WIN league RIVALRY game
Another defensive matchup that proved to live up to the hype. The Cyclones made the short trip to St.Peter's, Mo and found themselves in a battle. When the dust had cleared however, the Cyclones out lasted the Pitbulls and walked away victorious.
Brandon Hoover scored on a 11 yard TD catch to cap off a brilliant drive early in the second quarter.
3rd Quarter action, Devi Greer #2, aka Deuce, aka Mr Pick 6 continues to add to his career total of return touchdowns with a beauty. His score ended up being the deciding score in Saturdays game. We are proud to name Deuce our week one playmaker of the game!
Early in the 4th Pitbulls get a safety after the Cyclones kick gets blocked. 14-2.
Pitbulls get a final Touchdown with 7 minutes left in the game,but the extra point is no good.
