GDFL Vines headed to Brazil

The Gridiron Developmental Football League would like to congratulate one of our outstanding players. Mr. Jerquin (AKA JOE) Vines of The East Alabama Predators, has been signed to Sorriso Hornets of Brazil. This young man has had his fair share trials and tribulations. 

Jerquin stated," I am a man of faith, and I believe that God continues to bless me and open doors of opportunity. I am truly thankful and looking forward to not only representing my family and the East Alabama Predators but also The Gridiron Developmental Football League."

 Joe played football at Lafayette high school in Lafayette, AL. He went on to college to play for Tennessee Tech and Alabama State. His Professional career has been with The East Alabama Predators. He was also selected to the 2016 GDFL All-Pro Team. Mr.Vines will continue his football career as he starts a new journey as an International professional football player. Versatile and talented, Jerquin produced unbelievable results at Lafayette High School, where was a 12-time letterman in football, track and basketball...he brings his array of talents to the Golden Eagle roster looking to provide the same stunning results...potential to line up all over the field, and has the skills to be effective on both sides of scrimmage...extremely confident.

HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year starter at wide receiver and cornerback for coach Steven Coker, Jerquin was a first-team All-State selection for LaFayette High School while also earning first-team all-area honors...team captain...two-way threat for the Bulldogs...on offense, he caught 43 passes for 911 yards and 16 touchdowns as a senior, and also had 100 carries for 863 yards and seven touchdowns...on defense, he had 54 total tackles, six interceptions, 10 passes defended and forced four fumbles...returned two interceptions for touchdowns, and piled up 207 yards in return yards...career defensive numbers included 14 interceptions, 11 fumbles forced, 39 passes defended and two blocked kicks...lettered three years in basketball and four years on the track team, where he helped capture the state championship as a senior...was a two-time state champion in the 4x100 relay...also competed in the triple jump, long jump 110-meter hurdles, and 300-meter hurdles...won individual state championships in both hurdles events.
