GDFL Salutes Officer Miller

Memphis,Tenn-On last Thursday, February 09, 2017,  Memphis Blast Defensive Coordinator Coach Lawrence Miller Jr. was recognized by the Memphis Police Department for  his outstanding leadership.  Officer Miller is a 4x GDFL All Pro and a 3x Memphis Blast team MVP who was selected to be the Memphis Blast Defensive Coordinator in 2016. His defense led the Blast to the 2016 semifinals.Coach Miller is a man of integrity and the recognition he has received from MPD reflects his passion and commitment to the community at large.

"Not only was he the captain of his football team but headed up many of our community projects and he ensured its success by demonstrating leadership abilities that his teammates both admired and respected."

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Thirty-one new officers swore an oath to the Memphis Police Department Friday night.

They endured 21 weeks of physical and academic training. Recruits who spoke at the ceremony said that included expected work like legal work and firearms training as well as the dreaded pepper spray test and constant "burpees."
