GDFL Player of the Week

Congratulations to Kody Martinez. of the West Sound Rebels who was name GDFL Player of the Week for his performance in week 1 versus the Washington Warriors, Martinez had 6 solo tackles and 4 Interceptions to lead the league in INT’S and is currently the only player in GDFL history to ever get four interceptions in one game.

“ That is impressive on any level and he deserves to be our outstanding player of the week, Congratulations and good luck on the rest of your season, ” stated Commissioner Anthony Rodrigues. 

The National Football League (NFL) record for most interceptions recorded in a game by an individual is 4 held by 18 players, most recently accomplished by DeAngelo Hall while playing for the Washington Redskins against the Chicago Bears (on 24 October 2010).

“Martinez becomes only the third defensive player to be selected as Player of the Week ,Congratulations on a well deserved honor”stated League President Charles Thompson.
