GDFL GOTW: Features Sabers vs Senate

by GDFL Media

Salt Lake City,UT-The Salt Lake Senate will host the Tacoma Sabers in the opening game of the GDFL season.  The Senate are coming off a disappointing season in which they failed make it past regional opponent South Beach Outlaws, after starting off 7-0 with the highest point differential in the league.

The Sabers, on the other hand, are coming off a regional Championship loss from 2021. However, they are eager to take their program to a national level competing in the GDFL.

A national level defense is what they will face. Spearheaded by returning starter Aaron Wade (Former star safety from Utah or State University), the Senate defense is expected to return it's aggressive 3-4 formation, with a wide variety of blitz and exotic zone coverages.

It will be an interesting matchup, considering Tacoma's off season signing of Washington State's former WR Marqus Wyke, and multiple returning OL veterans such at Paie Maui'a and Vikk Lene.

Offensively, former Idaho State Alumni Fondereaux Wilson will most likely resume his position as starting quarterback, featuring Arizona Western RB Teddy Monroe in his backfield.

The Senate will look to take advantage of their home field in what is sure to be a hostile environment for the Sabers. The game will be broadcast in HD at 10:00 am Mountain Time. Be sure to tune in and catch all the action!
