by GDFL MEDIA

Erie, PA: This Saturday a battle of two GDFL titans will take place in Erie, Pennsylvania as the #2 ranked Erie Express host the #5 ranked WPA Wildcatz in week two action for both squads. Both teams will come into the contest at 1-0. Erie earned an impressive victory on the road defeating the Cleveland Cobras 47-0 while the Wildcatz earned a hard fought victory over the Pittsburgh Buccaneers 14-6.

These two teams are no strangers to each other and have had some amazing games as of late. Before joining the GDFL the Express were members of the PAFL and faced the Wildcatz in the 2017 Stars Conference Championship game losing 7-6 in Pittsburgh. The two teams last played in 2019 pre season with the Wildcatz winning 15-9 in Erie. Since joining the GDFL the Express have won back to back Xtreme East Division Titles and have played in the Xtreme Conference finals losing both times to the Middle Tennessee Bulldogs 14-7 (2018) and 32-27 (2019).

The Wildcatz bring with them a winning tradition which includes 2 league titles and 2 national championships. The Wildcatz erased a 21 point deficit to defeat the Canton Pitbulls in the 2019 PAFL Championship game. WPA has had multiple National Bowl Game invites winning two of the National Bowl games. The Wildcatz have never lost to Erie or ANY team in Pennsylvania for that matter.
