GDFL Expanding West Adding Eagles & Sting
Memphis,Tenn – The Gridiron Developmental Football League (GDFL) is proud to announce the addition and partnership of the league's newest teams based in the city of Rapid City, South Dakota and Denver,Colorado.
During a conference call Saturday morning, team ownership and league office staff announced that the Western Dakota War Eagles & Mile High Sting will compete as members of the GDFL for the 2020 season and beyond.
"The Mile High Sting & Western Dakota War Eagles are pleased to be joining the GDFL as its newest members.
"The War Eagles are excited about next season in the GDFL. The step up in competition and the chance to compete for a true National Championship. With a tradition of high-quality football, great regional rivalries and a sound business model, the GDFL presents a terrific opportunity for the Western Dakota and have our Staff, players and fans pumped up for next season.," said War Eagles Majority Owner Keith Russ.
"The Gridiron Developmental Football League (GDFL) Executive team have done a fantastic job of bringing in other high quality and well-run franchises including the teams like the Western Pennsylvania Wildcats, Columbus Fire, and the Georgia Cardinals community into the GDFL family. The two expansion teams, will join the Impact Conference for the 2020 season and beyond .

MILE HIGH STING
The Mile High Sting is Owned and Operated by Vonne Davis. In 2018 he ran the Colorado Packers as the General Manger of the organization but has decided to move on after the league he was a member of ceased operations.
Mr. Davis who was a minor league football player in 2001 in the NAFL with the Rocky Mountain Reapers.
Where he played at a high level garnering interests from the upper level leagues. He recorded 18 interceptions and averaged an eye opening 29.7 yards per punt return. Receiving accolades and awards, such as; Voted 1st Team All-star, as well as the Rocky Mountain Reapers team MVP.
He also participated in the Colorado Football Conference in 2003 where he led the league in interceptions, receiving another all star selection and won a Colorado football conference championship with the then, Denver Titans! In 2004 he was signed by the Colorado Venom a professional arena team.
Vonne Davis has now returned back to football with the motivation to give "THAT" opportunity that he received during his playing time, to another deserving athlete that has dreams and the ability to play on the next level.
