GDFL Announces New Commissioner

The GDFL is happy to announce and welcome Anthony J. Rodrigues Jr. as our new GDFL Commissioner.  

Anthony grew up in Erie, Pennsylvania where he graduated from Iroquois High School. After graduating, Anthony served in the United States Air Force where along with his Civil Engineering career, he served many roles including 11th Wing Sports Representative, 316th  Squadron Sports President and 316th Squadron Booster Club President.  
During his service Anthony also served a tour in Balad, Iraq from 2008-2009 where he was assigned to the “Task Force Safe” team identifying and safeguarding hazardous electrical systems within the Joint Air Base.

After military service, Anthony played semi professionally for the Butler Bears and Ohio Invaders before finishing his last two seasons with the Erie Express.  While playing, Anthony worked for the American Legion Department of Pennsylvania within the Erie, PA Veteran Affairs Hospital. In this position, Anthony managed an office tasked with guiding disabled veterans through the processes of establishing their military service claims.  
Throughout Anthony’s military service and service working with veterans, Anthony has also spent numerous years coaching youth football from ages 6-12 within the communities he was living in at the time.  
In 2014 Anthony left his Officer Manager position and shifted his focus towards Digital Media and Marketing within the automotive industry where the next 8 years would be spent building a following that reaches over 100,000 people monthly marketing local businesses.  

In addition to his success within the marketing and automotive industry, Anthony has also spent the last 3 years as Marketing Director for the GDFL 2021 National Champion Erie Express Football team who’s history of successes are already known within the GDFL community.  
The GDFL is happy to introduce and welcome Anthony J. Rodrigues Jr. as our new GDFL League Commissioner where we believe his military service, administrative experience, football background, digital media and marketing talents will greatly serve the GDFL immediately and for years to come!
