Pine Bluff Saints Owner Return to Their Roots in the GDFL

Pine Bluff, Arkansas – The Gridiron Developmental Football League (GDFL) proudly welcomes the Pine Bluff Saints, a pro-development franchise that has built its foundation on Christian values, mentorship, and community pride.

Now entering their second year as a team, the Saints are led by Pine Bluff native Sylvester Redix Jr., who has been a fixture in the developmental football world for more than a decade. Redix is no stranger to the GDFL, having previously launched the Huntsville Hurricane—his very first franchise in the league—before evolving into the Redstone Generals, the Redstone Raiders, and later serving as team president of the Rocket City Titans.

Throughout those years, Redix wore many hats, balancing duties as both owner and player, earning three GDFL All-Star appearances along the way. Now, he brings his journey full circle—returning home to Pine Bluff and returning to the league where it all began.

“The Saints are more than just football,” said Redix. “We are about mentoring young men, building character, and representing our community with pride. Pine Bluff deserves a team that reflects its values and passion for the game.”

The Saints’ entry into the GDFL strengthens the league’s Arkansas presence and creates exciting new opportunities for rivalries and regional competition.
