Florida's Tri-County Steelers UFL Champions Join GDFL

Orange Park, Florida – Tri County Steelers and (UFL) officials announced today they have partnered with the The Gridiron Developmental Football League (GDFL), for the 2020 GDFL season and beyond. The Tri County Steelers are the 2019 Universal Football League Champions. The Steelers and the St Augustine Crusaders played this past weekend in the Tackle Breast Cancer Community Bowl, a charity football game that brings awareness to Breast Cancer. 

The Steelers won 26-14 and the move to the nation's premier developmental football league. The (GDFL) which will match perfectly for upcoming events that impact surrounding communities throughout orange park and beyond.

"We are thrilled to be part of the GDFL," said UFL President Chance Green. "The Tri-County players,coaches and fans are excited, and will now get to see how they stack up against the nations best. With the likes of the Huntsville Rockets and the Georgia Cardinals as well as teams that have been around for years like the Erie Express," said Thompson.

The GDFL is just as excited to gain a great partnership and joint venture like the UFL and Tri County Steelers which fits our business model as well as our geographical footprint.

"The GDFL Recruitment Team and the other GDFL owners like the direction of the UFL and what they have been able to accomplish thus far and knew that we wanted to have them become and extension of our League," said GDFL Commissioner BO Townsend.

When asked about the future of the League, Green responded with, "I feel like we have a bigger & better opportunity all around to build a long-term sustainable business partnership with the GDFL and the strong group of owners they have."
