Erie Express move to 2-0 on the season after our 34-20 victory over the Western NY Mustangs. The Express received the opening kickoff and marched right down the field with Shannon Jackson scoring from six yards out. The extra point try was no good and Erie led 6-0. The first quarter ended with the score the same.

The Mustangs answered that score in the second quarter on a 42 yard touchdown pass. The extra point try was no good and the game was tied 6-6. With :46 to play in the half Bud Brown scored on a 1 yard run. The extra point was no good and the Express led 12-6. DB Marlon Tyree intercepted a Mustangs pass to end the half.

The Express opened the scoring in the second half when Brandon Hanna found Antonio Batista from 13 yards out. The two point pass to McWilliams was good and Erie led 20-6 at 10:23 of the third. The Mustangs answered that score with a 12 yard TD pass. The 2 point try was no good and the score was 20-12 to end the third.

Brandon Hanna answered that score by finding Corey McWilliams on a 25 yard scoring pass. He then connected with Bud Brown on the two point try to make the score 28-12. The Mustangs drove down the field and punched it in from 1 yard out and converted their two point try to make the score 28-20. The final score of the game came when Hanna again found Batista from 17 yards out. The two point try was no good.

The Express will travel to Cleveland next Saturday to face the Cleveland Cobras. Kickoff is set for 7pm at Brooklyn High School. Admission is $5 at the gate with children 12 and under FREE. There will be a live broadcast of the game and we will share that link later in the week. GO EXPRESS!
