Express Opens Pre-Season with a Win!

Erie,PA-Erie Express open their  2019 pre-season with a win 27-0 victory over the Mahoning Valley Rough Ryderz. The Express scored first on a 4yd TD run by Chris Daley, Jeremy Ditzler added the extra point to make the score 7-0. The first quarter ended with Erie leading 7-0.

Daley added his second TD run of the day on a 2yd run, a mishandled hold resulted in Ditzler being tackled for a loss on the try making the score 13-0 in favor of the Express. Quarterback Brandon Hanna connected with Antonio Batista on a 31yd strike with Ditzler adding the extra point to make the score 20-0 in favor of Erie. The final score of the half, and ultimately the game, came when Hanna hit Matt Ogletree from 7yds out, Ditzler's kick was good to make the score 27-0.

Dajuan Smith and Glen Conner each were in on three sacks with Mark Richardson and Jake Johnson each recording a pair. Darrell Fincher and Antonio Batista each recorded an interception.

Erie Express will host the Western Pennsylvania Wildcatz next week in the Erie Bank Sports Park game of the week. The game will be played at Cathedral Prep Events Center. Kickoff is set for 5pm. Tickets are $5 with kids 12 and under FREE. We hope to see you there. GO EXPRESS!!
