Express earn road victory in Cleveland

Erie, PA-The #2 ranked Erie Express moved to 1-0 on the season after an impressive 47-0 road victory in Cleveland, Ohio against the Cobras who were a 2019 GDFL Playoff team. 2019 GDFL Player of the Year Brandon Hanna looked good working out the rust of over a year of inactivity. For the game Hanna finished 13 of 25 for 163yds, 1 TD and a 2pt conversion. Hanna added another 6yds rushing and a pair of TD's. The Express defense forced multiple Cobra turnovers and gave the offense a very short field to work with throughout the night.

Express defenders Shannon Jackson (2), Jovan Provitt, Kristopher Ford, Chris Foster and Mike McKinnon all recorded fumbles with Jackson recovering one in the end zone for a TD. "The Cobras were having exchange issues all night and we were able to recover 6 fumbles which gave us great field position. That is a credit to our defense for applying the pressure and flying to the football.

 The Cobras are a good team they just made some bad mistakes that cost them-Director of Operations Paul Pennington For the night the Express defense held the Cobras to -13yds of total offense while racking up 201yds  on the offensive side of the ball. The Express will be in action again June 12th as they host the #5 ranked WPA Wildcatz at Mercyhurst University. The Express have never defeated the Wildcatz and last played them in 2019 losing 15-9. Kickoff is set for 5pm with admission being $10, children 12 and under are always free.
