Epic Playoff Battle on the Horizon

Racine,WI-The Quarterfinal matchup between the Racine Raiders and the Huntsville Rockets is brewing to be one of the best games of the 2023 GDFL season. Both organizations have very storied histories and multiple championships throughout the years. This will be the first time that these to teams face each other on the field and they will be battling for a chance to get one step closer to a National Title. 

The Racine Raiders pitched a shutout last week in the first round, defeating the Tri-City Outlaws 43-0. They bring a well-rounded, physical team to the table and look to continue their dominance in the second round. This season, the Raider defense has only surrendered 58 points in nine games. They say that “Defense Wins Championships” and from the looks of it, the Raiders are taking that to heart. The Raider Offense, led by Quarterback Andre Locke Sr., has played its part as well averaging 33pts per game.

The Huntsville Rockets have always taken pride in their stingy defense as well. This season, the Rocket defense has accounted for more scores than they have given up. In last weeks win over the Columbus Fire, the Rocket defense accounted for 3 touchdowns and have only given up 4 the entire year.

 Led by veterans Malcolm Brooks and Thomas Sims, the Rockets look to lean heavily on their defensive playmakers to come up big. The Rockets also bring a plethora of playmakers on the offensive side of the ball and will need all their magic if they look to get past the tough Raider defense. 

This matchup looks to be one for the books. If you are a fan of hard-nosed, defensive standoffs, this will be the game to watch. It looks like this will be a chess match and the team that makes fewer mistakes will be the victor. Both of these storied teams will be looking to move on, but only one will have that opportunity once the clock runs out.

Kickoff will be this Saturday, August 19th at 7:05 pm, at Horlick Athletic Field in Racine Wisconsin. The atmosphere will be electric, the crowd will be massive, and the game will be amazing. You wouldn’t want to miss this one.
