Dirty Birds Take Flight in the GDFL’s 2026 Spring Expansion

GDFL Welcomes the North Mississippi Dirty Birds for the 2026 Season
Pope,Mississippi–The Gridiron Developmental Football League (GDFL) is excited to kick off its spring expansion announcements with the addition of the North Mississippi Dirty Birds, who will officially join the league for the 2026 season.
The Dirty Birds organization is committed to competing at the highest level, and leadership believes the GDFL provides the best platform for their franchise to grow and succeed.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome the North Mississippi Dirty Birds to the GDFL,” said Commissioner Charles Thompson. “Our goal remains to continue building this league into the best it can be for players, fans, and communities.”
The 2026 season will mark the Dirty Birds’ inaugural year in the league. The franchise is led by owner William Tillman, who brings several years of experience at the developmental level, entering his third season as a coach.
“The GDFL is an organization run with professionalism and stability under Mr. Thompson’s leadership,” said Tillman. “That stood out to us as we looked at different leagues. We’re extremely excited to take on this new challenge with the Dirty Birds.”
