DAWGZ LOOK TO BOUNCE BACK AGAINST ROCKETS AFTER ROUGH LOSS

Huntsville , AL – August 7, 2025 The Mississippi Dawgz are rolling into Rocket territory this Saturday with one thing on their mind: redemption.

Fresh off a punishing 40-12 loss to the Tennessee Vikings, the Dawgz are looking to shake off the bruises and pull off an upset over the well-rested Huntsville Rockets. The Rockets, coming off a bye week, have had time to heal, refocus, and prepare — making the Dawgz’ challenge even tougher.

The Dawgz were outpaced early and often in last week’s GDFL National Game of the Week. After a momentum-shifting 80-yard fumble return by Tennessee’s Kwun Moore and multiple explosive plays by quarterback Omarion Johnson, the Dawgz found themselves buried by halftime. Despite a few bright spots, including two touchdowns to keep the score respectable, the Mississippi squad never fully recovered.

Now, they face a disciplined Rockets team that’s hungry to defend their home turf at Sparkman High School. Kick-off is set for 4:30 PM, Saturday, August 9, Huntsville , AL.
