Central Ohio Militia team becomes tenth new member in less then two weeks for 2018

Mt.Vernon,Ohio-The state of Ohio, has long been a hotbed for college and pro football, and has had a presence in the GDFL since the league’s inception.

The Gridiron Developmental Football League (GDFL) on Friday announced the addition of the Central Ohio Militia, out of Mt.Vernon, Ohio making them the tenth new member franchise to be announced within the last 12 days, the 4th within the last 24 hours for the upcoming 2018 season.

The Militia will serve the Central Ohio region for all athletes who are interested in playing on a higher-level in the Gridiron Developmental Football League's, new conference in the North East.

The Central Ohio Militia new owner Jimmy Grubaugh' mission was finding a way to better stabilize the organization.

He believes he accomplished this on friday by announcing the Militia are officially joining the top Professional Developmental League in the country, The Gridiron Developmental Football League (GDFL) for the 2018 season and beyond. 

The team is under new management, and has plans on changing their image after a turbulent 2017 season. His Ownership group has already purchased transportation and has secured their first major sponsor. Mr.Grubaugh",stated he has about forty players that have made verbal commitments.   

With season tickets going on average for as low as $25 around the GDFL, the Militia will continue the league’s dedication of providing fan-friendly and affordable entertainment with the Central Ohio region (Stadium,TBA) serving as the host region for all Militia games.. 

“We are excited about the opportunity to be a member of the Gridiron Development Football League (GDFL) ” says Central Ohio Militia, General Manager Sheila Daniels. 

Following along with the GDFL regional footprint, the Militia, are set to become regular rivals with the NEO Silverbacks (Akron, OH) as well as with the Cleveland Cobras(OH) and several GDFL Northeast opponents .

The Central Ohio Militia season will begin the beginning of May, The GDFL Northeast Conference offers a 8 game seasons (4 home, 4 away) with teams split into 2 divisions (North & South).
