Blackhawks Run Past Coyotes in the Desert with 32-21 Victory
Palm Springs,California .-- QB Jimmy Do led a Blackhawk offense to a 32-21 road victory over a tough So. Cal Coyotes team. With the win the Blackhawks clinched the #1 seed in the Western playoffs and moved their record to 8-0 going into playoffs and will host the second round 8/20 winner of the Aug 13. Round 1 Arizona RoadRunners versus the Salt Lake Senate winner.
Jimmy Do finished the game with 12 carries for 35 yards and 1 TD in addition to going 12 of 26 for 206 yards and 2 TD's. Both of his touchdowns went to WR Daniel Allen who was just recently signed to the Blackhawks roster. Allen went bananas hauling in 6 receptions for 160 yards and 2 TD's which earner him the Blackhawks Offensive Player of the Week.
Allen stepped up in the absence of WR's D.J. Carter, Justin Sydney, and T.J. Wright who all didn't play this week. "Allen played lights out", stated head coach Tony Reid. He's been on our radar for a couple of years now and today you see why we stayed in pursuit. Inglewood relied on it's running game as well in the sweltering heat as they ran the ball 47 times and only passed 26. The run game was led by Trae Bickham (12 carries 71 yards 2 TD's) and Kendall Gordon (15 carries 49 yards) who both has great timely runs throughout the game. "No backer wants to see Trae in the hole" stated Reid.
On defense Inglewood played relatively well despite the three scores on the board. Two of those scores were off of turnovers deep in Blackhawk territory. LB Daniel Packer player a great game with some great tackles and a heads up fumble recovery late in the game to secure the victory. LB Chris Benson was a menace in the middle as he had some great tackles along with a 42 yard interception for a TD which was called back for a penalty. Inglewood had 21 points taken off the board due to penalties.
