EXPRESS SIGN ALL-PRO DE-ANDRE PORTIS (#33 MARSHALL UNIVERSITY)

The Erie Express are pleased to announce the signing of All-Pro DE-Andre Portis (Marshall University) for the 2020 season. Andre begins his first season with the Express and joins one of the top defensive lines in the country. 

Andre is a graduate of Fairfield, HS (CA) and began his college career at San Mateo College before finishing at Marshall University. While at San Mateo, Portis was named first-team All-Northern California Conference and was rated as one of the top 5 linebackers in Junior College by Rivals.com.

 Andre was rated as a three star recruit by Scout.com. Portis chose Marshall over 10 other scholarship offers from schools such as California, Minnesota, Colorado State, and Temple. While at Marshall, Andre helped lead the Thundering Herd to a 21-17 victory over the Ohio Bobcats in the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl. 

Andre has played professionally for the Huntington Hammer, Marion Blue Racers, Sioux Falls Storm and Erie Explosion. With 5 All-Pro seasons and 3 championships under his belt he is sure to make an impact right away. (Related Story)
