Thunder turn back Blast

by Gridiron Media

Tulsa, OK-Winning on the road is a difficult task in the Gridiron Developmental football League, winning in Oklahoma is nearly impossible. The Memphis Blast found this out in GDFL week one action.

The game was a rematch of last year's GDFL Impact Conference championship and the result was duplicated. The Thunder used a strong defense and quick striking offense to overpower the Blast.

Thunder struck early as punt returner Prentiss Elliot returned a punt for a touchdown early in the first quarter. The teams jostled for control during the early portion of the game, but the Thunder seized control and maintained it throughout the game.

The Memphis Blast never wilted but were unable to overcome turnovers and inconsistent play. In what was billed as a possible playoff preview the Thunder proved to still be the team to beat in the GDFL's Impact Conference.
